Building personas
A persona is the AI character a learner has a live conversation with. A well-designed persona makes the session feel realistic and purposeful — invest time in the description, because it directly shapes how the AI behaves.
Create a persona
Section titled “Create a persona”-
Select Personas in the sidebar, then Create Persona.
-
Enter the character’s name, job title, and company.
-
Write a detailed description — personality traits, communication style, likely objections, and how the character reacts under pressure. The more specific, the better.
-
Set up to five evaluation criteria (the dimensions the AI scores the learner on, e.g. Rapport Building, Needs Discovery, Objection Handling). Assign each a percentage weight totalling 100%.
-
Select a voice from the ElevenLabs library that matches the character.
-
Tag relevant skills, industry, and job role.
-
Set visibility to Public or Private.
-
Select Save as Draft to keep editing, or Publish to make it available for use in roleplays.

Section titled “AI-suggested evaluation criteria”Writing good criteria from scratch is time-consuming. Let the AI draft them:
- Fill in the persona’s name, job title, and description first.
- Select AI Suggest next to the Evaluation Criteria field.
- The AI generates five measurable criteria tailored to the role.
- Accept them, edit individual items, or select Regenerate for a new set.
- Adjust the weights to total 100%, then save.
This is especially useful for industries or job functions outside your direct expertise.
Tips for strong personas
Section titled “Tips for strong personas”- Write the description in the first person: “I am the Head of Procurement at a mid-size manufacturing firm. I am time-poor and sceptical of cold outreach…”
- Add specific objections: “I will push back on price and question ROI.”
- Match the voice to the character — it noticeably improves the experience.
- Create several difficulty variants of the same character (Easy / Tough / Hostile).
Visibility
Section titled “Visibility”Use Private while a persona is a work in progress, and Public once it is polished and ready for the whole team. Your Admin can change the visibility of any persona. Private personas show a Private badge in the list.
