Getting started (Author)

This guide is for teachers and content authors. To add or edit an EDZ Rise activity you need editing access to the course (the editing teacher or manager role).

  1. In your course, turn editing on.

  2. Select Add an activity or resource, then choose EDZ Rise lesson.

  3. Give the activity a name and, optionally, an introduction.

  4. Save. A new activity starts from a pre-filled sample lesson you can replace.

An EDZ Rise activity holds one document made of lessons. Each lesson is an ordered set of blocks — content blocks (headings, text, images, video…) and interactive blocks (knowledge checks, quizzes, flashcards). Learners move through the lessons one page at a time.

You can produce the same lesson document in any of these ways:

  • Keep the sample and edit it in the visual editor.
  • Generate it with AI in one click using the AI Course Builder, then refine it. See AI tools.
  • Build it from scratch in the visual editor. See Authoring lessons.
  • Paste raw JSON in the activity settings form (an advanced option for manual fixes; the document is validated when you save).

From the activity, select Edit content to launch the visual block editor.
