Using the AI tools

  1. In any Moodle editor, select the text you want to work from (optional for image tools).

  2. Open AI Tools — from the toolbar button, the Insert menu, or by right-clicking the selection.

  3. Pick a tool from the gallery. The form is prefilled with your selected text.

  4. Adjust the options and select Generate.

  5. Preview the result, then select Insert to place it at your selection.

  6. Save the activity as normal — saving stores any generated files.

Quick (synchronous) vs. video (background)

Section titled “Quick (synchronous) vs. video (background)”
  • Image, infographic, audio, and text tools generate while you wait — a spinner shows progress, then a preview.
  • Avatar video runs as a background job (roughly 1–3 minutes). Keep the page open; if you close the dialog, a notification appears when the video is ready, and reopening AI Tools lets you insert it.

Errors appear as a readable message inside the dialog with a Back option to try again — your work in the editor isn’t lost.
