Add the activity

1. Turn editing on in your course and select Add an activity or resource.
2. Choose EDZ YouTube.
3. Give it a name and an optional description.
4. Paste the YouTube URL. Full watch?v=, short youtu.be/, embed/, and shorts/ links all work — the video ID is detected automatically.
5. Save.

Viewing and completion settings

Setting	Default	What it does
Do not allow forward seeking in first view	On	On the learner’s first watch, blocks skipping ahead of what they’ve watched (rewinding is always allowed). The lock lifts once they complete the activity.
Enable percent-based completion	Off	Turns on the “watch at least X%” completion rule.
Completion threshold (%)	100	The percentage a learner must watch to complete. Only active when the percent rule is on and completion is set to Automatic.

The completion threshold appears in the Activity completion section of the form. Percentage-watched completion behaves like any other completion condition, so it shows up in course completion, reports, and access restrictions.

Note

The forward-seek lock is a strong deterrent for ordinary use, but like any control enforced in the browser it isn’t an absolute guarantee against a determined technical user. The server-stored furthest-watched position is the authoritative record.
