Allocate master skills to learners
Section titled “Allocate master skills to learners”From the Allocation screen, assign a master skill to individuals or to a whole cohort. Each allocation can carry a start date, a due date, and a mandatory/optional flag. Learners are notified when a goal is allocated, and the goal then appears on their personal My Skills dashboard.
Map activities to skills (ModMap)
Section titled “Map activities to skills (ModMap)”The Activity Mapping screen links each library skill to the Moodle activities that develop and measure it — quizzes, assignments, SCORM packages, or video. A skill can map to several activities, and you can adjust each activity’s weight.
How scoring works
Section titled “How scoring works”Scores roll up the hierarchy automatically:
- Activity score — for graded activities (quiz, assignment, SCORM), the learner’s best grade as a percentage; for completion-only activities (video, page), 100% if completed, otherwise 0%.
- Skill score — a weighted average of its mapped activities’ scores.
- Group score — a weighted average of its skills’ scores.
- Master score — a weighted average of its groups’ scores (group weights sum to 100%).
When a learner’s master score reaches the configured achievement threshold, any rewards you’ve set up (such as a badge, points, or certificate) are triggered.
Scores are computed in the background and cached, so reports load quickly; a learner or manager can request a refresh (limited to once every 30 minutes).
